Clinton Joseph Voelkel, age 85, passed away on Aug. 17 in Lake-way. He was born to Clinton L. and Virginia (Etlinger) Voelkel De. 31, 1933 in Corpus Christi. He married Ann (Orsag) Voelkel Jan. 7, 1960 in Ganado.

Clinton was a pharmacist and graduated from University of Houston. Right after graduation, he worked for Walgreens as a pharmacist until Clinton along with Ann purchased West Pharmacy in Columbus. Clinton was a long time resident of Columbus and enjoyed hunting, playing cards, dancing, drama and plays.

Clinton was a member of the Knights of Columbus, former President of the Chamber of Commerce, former member of the Magnolia Homes Tour, City Council member and served as Mayor Pro Tem.

Clinton was preceded in death by his parents.

Clinton is survived by his wife Ann Voelkel; daughters Heather Voelkel-Bridges and husband Dean, Simmie Kollatschny and husband Vance; grandchildren Conor Joseph Voelkel-Bridges, Addison Palma Bridges, Alexis Renee Kollatschny and Amber Rae Van Raalte; and great-grandchild Sydney Rae Ramsey.

A visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home and at church on Thursday from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. A parish prayer service and Knights of Columbus rosary will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Augustine N. Asante officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Columbus. A reception will follow the graveside service at Stafford Opera House, 425 Spring St. in Columbus.

Serving as pallbearers are Bill Seale, Jack Greenwade, Leroy Orsag, Dean Bridges, James Glenn, Vance Kollatschny and Conor Bridges.
