La Grange High School alumni and La Grange native J.K. Dobbins announced Monday Dec. 30 at 5:14 p.m. that he will forgo his senior campaign at Ohio St. University and enter the 2020 NFL draft in late April. Dobbins played his last game for the Buckeyes Dec. 28 in the 2019 Playstation Fiesta Bowl.
The Buckeyes lost 29-23, however, Dobbins rushed for 174 yards on 18 carries with a 68 yard touchdown run. He also eclipsed the 2,000 yard mark on the season as well with 2,003 yards rushing and tied for third all-time in the school’s history, and 21 touchdowns which is tied third all-time as well.
Dobbins concluded his three-year career at Ohio State with 3,459 yards on the ground and 38 touchdowns. In an article published by Bleacher report, Dobbins said one of the best decisions he ever made”was coming to Ohio from Texas. It has been nothing short of a dream. I’ve built relationships that will last me a lifetime at this great university. I’ve created bonds with my brothers on the teams for the past three years that will never be broken. The state of Ohio and the city of Columbus will always have a special place in my heart.”
