Friday Nights Lights are always good, especially when you have an undefeated match-up like the one last Friday between the Weimar Wildcats (5-0) and the Flatonia Bulldogs (5-0). The game was a close one, with Weimar winning 19-7 over the Bulldogs. To go along with the win, it was another big night and performance for the Senior Wildcat running back Ravon’Dre Wicks. Wicks accounted for a total of 171 all-purpose yards, with 159 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the night. This performance was accompanied by a stingy Weimar Wildcat defense led by Sophmore Joey Ramirez, who totaled 16 tackles, Reed Purdy with 12 tackles, Taiton Hudec recorded eight tackles and Deiontre Wicks had eight tackles and a caused fumble.

Both defenses remained stiff, not allowing any progress for either side in the first quarter. Weimar was finally able to add the first score of the night with a TD from Wicks, giving the Wildcats a 6-0 lead heading into the second quarter.

The Wildcats will be back in action Friday, Oct. 11 with their first district game against the Kenedy Lions at 7:30 p.m.
