COLUMBUS — Columbus High School senior Eric LaCourse placed second in the UIL State Academic Meet in Ready Writing last weekend.
LaCourse placed second out of Region IV to advance to the state contest.
He is the son of Richard and Rebecca La-Course of Columbus.
LaCourse was the only student from Colorado County to place at the state academic meet.
UIL Ready Writing is a writing contest that gives participants the choice of two prompts to write from in a specified time limit.
