Read more“We Are All Neighbors” was the mission statement of the recent food supply distribution that took place at Iglesia Bautista Gethsemane Church in Eagle Lake Mar. 4. This special food distribution helped families who suffered loss of groceries during the power outages of the ice storm recently. According to Eagle Lake City Manager Melissa Landin, the Eagle Lake Food Pantry and the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent in Victoria made it possible for 122 households to replenish their food pantries. “The winter storm caused immense damage and grief to our small, rural community. While we may have limited resources, our community pulls together to provide those in need a hand up. From the chicken and rice soup distribution to the food pantry distributions, we have had numerous local organizations, individuals, and volunteers come together. It is neighbors helping neighbors,” Landin said, who also helped distribute food. Citizen
