The Raider of the Week for the week of Feb. 28 is Mya Gonzales. Mya is the daughter of Angelia Gonzales and Greg Frazier. She is a sophomore this year and is a member of the RHS Choir. Her favorite class and teacher is Biology with Coach Hernandez.

Read moreJoe Franks of Giddings, newly elected Lion Governor in District 2-S5, paid the Weimar Lions a visit Mar. 1. Joe’s wife, Meredith, joined in and made a presentation as well. Franks has a Lion record that shrinks nearly everyone else’s. He has been a Director of the Lone Star Lions Eye Bank, Director of Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, and has sponsored enough new Lion members to fill several clubs. One of the subjects that Lion Meredith Franks covered was a non-profit organization that she helped form that is designed to help young children that need a little boost and cheering up. The items are simple and hand-made. Any child can qualify.
Read moreIndustry State Bank participated in the Credit for Life program put on by the Columbus Christian Women’s Organization at Rice High School Mar. 4. Rachel Kozel (pictured) represented ISB at the event. This program allowed high school seniors a trial run at the adult world. The students received a credit score and job salary and had to make various financial decisions, such as buying a car, finding housing, choosing a credit card, etc. ISB was able to lend a hand in selling the “credit cards” to the students and in the Credit Counseling Center where the students were able to see if they had been successful in their decision making process.
