Read moreLast year I received a generous donation to put toward offering scholarships for Columbus High School graduating seniors. In my conversations with the business department, I learned that Columbus had never set up an Educational Foundation to hold and grow these donated funds. I learned that throughout the years many alumni, residents, and community members had made scholarship donations to assist our graduating seniors in their future pursuits whether it be college or trade schools. I had been part of a few school districts that had well established educational foundations.

Read moreSAS completed another Catholic Schools Week at the beginning of this month, and in the mix of all the memories, field day fun, dress up days, and competitions, the one thing that really stood out was the community project. The student body, staff, and faculty decided that this year’s project would be to raise money for the Gabriel Project of Colorado County, which is a non-profit, volunteer run organization that helps pregnant mothers in need. The goal was to collect $1,000, but the wonderful SAS family far surpassed that goal by donating $1,500.
