Victor Morrison, pastor of the Columbus First Baptist Church, is spending some of his time in active mission ministry. Although a full-time pastor in Columbus, he seeks opportunities to reach out and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Victor doesn’t just stand on a street corner on a busy street. He travels to places few of us will ever vis it. His mission for Christ is not just preaching the Word but teaching others how to preach the Word.

Maybe not Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, but many others that lulled us to sleep should send shivers down our spines if we knew what our mommies were singing to us as we slumbered. Mom never sang to us to go to sleep. She would put us into bed, shut off the light, and close the door. She left us to fend off the monsters under the bed and the ghosts hiding in the closet. I could only imagine if she sang a song of troubled politics or death; that is the origins of many nursery rhymes.

Read moreNesbitt Memorial Library Director Susan Chandler and 4-H Volunteer Olga Beishir partnered to provided STEM Robotics Sessions at the Nesbitt Memorial Library every first and third Wednesday of the month. Texas 4-H offers a variety of programs, activities and events designed specifically to support and enhance volunteer participation and involvement in kids’ lives. Starting a local 4-H Robotics Club gives youth the opportunity to participate in many 4-H events and activities, as well as apply for scholarships, travel the country, and meet new friends.
