Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of March 2021. Deputy Ben Wilson spoke to an individual in Fayette County who was reportedly harassing another person out-of-state. The suspect was warned and no further issues were reported. Wilson also responded to Business 71 near State Highway 71 for an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was impounded and the last registered owner was notified by mail.

Read moreI recently visited the Willow School schoolhouse as part of a historical article I am writing. I took along my dad as he is one of the last seven surviving students of that school. In the past several years it served as a hay barn. But during its heyday, it was the site of bustling activity, busy brains, and so many recesses that kids now could only dream of having. Watching my dad sit in one of the time-period desks, I saw him vividly remembering exactly where he sat and reminiscing on those good ol’ days before real-life overtook him. I couldn’t help but go back to my days at Bernardo school and the simplicity of Dick and Jane.
