Gary Lance Rose, 71, passed away June 3 at home. He was the husband of Cheryl Reitz Rose. They shared 46 years of marriage together.
Gary was born in Brevard, NC Sept. 27, 1948. He was the son of Glen and Helen Cain. He attended Houston Baptist University. Gary was employed at Tuboscope, an oil field pipe inspection company in Houston, and worked as an electronic technician from 1973 until retirement in 2007. He also worked at BAE for a couple of years during retirement as a technical writer for the MRap (Humvee) vehicles going to the Middle East for the US Military.
Gary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbus. He enjoyed photography, his chickens, building electronic things, auto mechanics, and just “fixing” things. Gary will be remembered for his trust in God and compassion for others in need.
His wife, Cheryl Reitz Rose, his mother Helen Cain and his sister, Marjorie R. Willingham, survives him.
His father Glen T. Cain, his biological parents Hardy Obie Rose and Reba McCall, and brothers, Eugene Baxter Rose and Howard Vance Rose, predeceased him.
Due to travel limitations and the COVID-19 outbreak, a memorial service will be held at a later time.
