The Columbus Cardinals started their two-a-days on Monday, August 2, 2021, at the Cardinal stadium. The morning drill kicked off at 8 a.m. as the sun began to bear down on the field. Coaches put their squads through their first drills to shape and sharpen the student-athlete’s bodies. The Varsity will scrimmage against Jordan in Columbus on Friday, August 13, at 7:00 p.m. The Junior Varsity will kick off against Jordan in Columbus on Friday, August 13, at 5:30 p.m.

It was hot but they took it on with enthusiasm and a lot of water. The girls CYFF cheer squad started their practices right along with the football team. On July 26 and through August 13, everyone will be sharpening their music and field marching skills. The field marching routines are oft-times complex and must be down pat for competition. When school starts, the band will be practicing Monday and Tuesday nights until the UIL con- test, which will be on October 16.
