Next week on Monday, the 23rd, we will graduate from Texas ChalleNGe Academy and return back home. After the Thanksgiving break, we will have a week of online learning, and some of us will have to return to campus to take our End of Course Assessments. But, we are almost done.

Rios was selected as cadet of the week for demonstrating resilience and perseverance amongst his fellow cadets. He is learning to become self-accountable and excelling in academics. Rios is a West Texas native who enjoys watching and playing football. Before enrolling at TCA, he attended Permian High School in Odessa. Rios decided to volunteer for TCA to accelerate his education and obtain tools to conquer his previous anger issues. He’s overjoyed to be a part of many other cadets to earn their High School diploma at TCA. Following graduation, he would like to enlist in the United States Army and pursue a career in the military. Read moreRaider of the Week for the week of Nov. 10 is Lauren Scott. Lauren is the daughter of Warren Scott and Janil Chapman. She is a senior this year and is on the basketball team and runs track. Lauren says her favorite teacher is Coach Keener. Outside of school, Lauren likes to spend her free time playing sports. After high school, Lauren plans to continue her education and pursue a degree. CISD Counselors Kathe Balusek, Rob Sherrard and Brittani Rerich- CCMR Coordinator, partnered with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Ja’Shae Horn and Natalia Hurt of the Rural Student Success Initiative Program in order to provide guidance and assurance of each families FAFSA registration completion. This college FAFSA (The Free Application for Federal Student Aid), is a form completed by current and prospective college students in hopes to determine their eligibility for student financial aid.
