Read moreOn Jan. 10 the Columbus Boys’ basketball team took on the Rice Raiders and chalked up a win of 49-37. The Cards took the lead in the first quarter and maintained the lead in each quarter until the final buzzer. Carson Wray hooped in 28 points, two, three-pointers, and was eight for 13 from the free throw line. Colton Pitchford put up 16 points, four, three-pointers and two for five from the free throw line. Ryan Barnes made three points and Trace Braden scored two points.

Columbus was within striking distance in each of the four quarters but couldn’t quite pull to the front. Colton Pitchford had 19 total points, three, three-pointers, and was four for six from the Free Throw line. Carson Wray had 17 points and was 8 for 9 at the Free Throw line. Ryan Barnes came away with 14 points. However, the Columbus Cardinals Boys Basketball clinched the playoffs with a win Wednesday night over Rice.
