The Weimar Hormigas have gotten off to a relatively tough start to their inaugural season. Another difficult week leaves their record standing at an unfortunate 4-13 by the end of action on June 18. Weimar did find a way to take a couple of victories as they finished with a 2-5 record for the week.

Over the past week, the Cards hosted camps for basketball, baseball and softball. Columbus will host one more camp in the month for its young soccer players on June 22 and 23. He makes the move to college sports after a fouryear career as a multi-sport athlete for Rice. The work he put in during his tenure culminated in the collegiate signing, celebrated with friends, family, and teammates inside of Rice’s gym on June 3.

Unfortunately for Shiner, they came two runs short of achieving that dream season, losing in a tight match against the Valley Mills Eagles by a 2-4 margin. Despite the loss, Shiner had many things to be happy about this season including the play of their freshman fielder, Keenan Hailey.
